AAF COLUMBUS INVITES LOCAL COMMUNITY TO SHOW THEIR MASTERPIECES
(Columbus, Ohio) Central Ohio businesses and individuals are invited to submit creative work to be judged in the second annual Pride of Columbus awards, presented by American Advertising Federation (AAF) Columbus. The major criteria for entry is that work submitted was produced locally in 2018 and represents a local brand. Pride of Columbus will take place in conjunction with the Columbus American Advertising Awards Friday, March 1, at the Columbus Museum of Art.
“Many local businesses are not aware they can submit work to our annual awards competition,” said Bethany Beaman, president of AAF Columbus. “We created the Pride of Columbus award last year to help engage our talented local community and celebrate its great work.”
Items can be submitted in categories ranging from print publications, invitations and annual reports to websites, videos, billboards, packaging and more. Overall, there are 98 advertising-related categories to enter.
The recipient of the 2019 Pride of Columbus award will be selected by local judge Doug Buchanan of Columbus Business First. Entries will be accepted now through Jan. 15 at aafcolumbus.org/the-addys. The cost is $30 per entry.
In addition to entering Pride of Columbus, businesses and individuals may enter the American Advertising Awards—the largest advertising competition in the country. All work submitted will be judged by a panel of three industry experts, including Janlatae “Jan” Mullins of BARK-BARK; Christin Norris of Digitas and Mark Anderson of Food Network.
Winning submissions from the 2019 Columbus American Advertising Awards (excluding Pride of Columbus) will advance to the American Advertising Federation District 5 competition and be judged against other winners in the region (including Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia); winners of that competition will advance to the third tier, the national level, of the competition.
